Oklahoma Heritage Association
The Oklahoma Heritage Association Teen Board is made up of high school students from around central Oklahoma.  These high schoolers are chosen to serve on the board after an application and interview process, and work throughout their term to promote the mission of the OHA.  The main project of the Teen Board is to develop and implement a Battle of the Bands fund-raiser to benefit the Association.  Each Teen Board member commits to serving on a committee for the event, raising sponsorship dollars and securing raffle items.

The Teen Board's Battle of the Bands profits an average of $15,000 each year, all of which benefits the Association & Museum's education program.

2010 Battle of the Bands

Congratulations to the bands selected to compete in the 2010 Battle of the Bands:
Coney Island - indie/rock band from OKC
The Fiascos - rock/alternative/indie band from Tulsa
Leo Goes Grr - folk rock band from Edmond
Sycamore - rock/post hardcore band from Norman, Tulsa, Salina and Wynnewood
True Evidence - contemporary Christian band from Edmond, OKC and Yukon

The Battle will be held Saturday, March 27 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum in Oklahoma City.  The winning band will receive $1,000. A panel of judges, including Lauren Richardson from Fox 25, JROD from KJ103 and Jim Moody from OKC Sound, will determine the first, second and third place winners. Audience members will select a crowd favorite by making donations in their favorite band's name.

Tickets will go on sale in March and are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. In addition to the concert, a raffle at the event will feature items like Southwest Airline tickets, Disney World theme park passes, autographed OU and OSU memorabilia, local and regional hotel stays, and gift certificates to local restaurants.
